What the app saves, where your messages go, and how to delete your account.

About this notice

This notice covers the Rocky breakup support app from App Machina. It supplements the App Machina privacy policy and describes the features in Rocky version 1.1.0. Older app versions may use different features or service settings. App Machina’s general policy identifies the operator as 10X Ventures.

Rocky offers everyday exercises and optional AI chat. It is not a therapist, a medical service, or an emergency service.

What Rocky saves

Your account
An account identifier lets Rocky save your progress. If you register, the service also processes the name, email address, and sign-in information you provide. You can begin with a guest account.
Your activity
The app saves information you choose to record, such as mood check-ins, contact logs, onboarding answers, daily activities, and wardrobe choices. This information can reveal sensitive details about how you feel.
Your exercises
Your place in an exercise, completed exercises, reflections, and collected rocks are saved on your device for your account. Writing you do in your own notes app or on paper stays outside Rocky. Text you enter into a Rocky chat or an in-app writing feature is different: it may be saved with your account.
Purchases
Apple or Google handles your payment. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information, together with your Rocky account identifier, to check Rocky Plus access. Rocky does not receive your full payment card details.
Technical and usage information
Service providers process device and app information, network information such as IP addresses, app activity, and error reports to operate the app, measure usage, and investigate problems.

Before you use AI chat

Rocky asks for your agreement before sending chat messages to OpenAI. To create a reply and check for messages that need urgent human support, Rocky sends your message and recent conversation context to OpenAI through its chat service.

Conversations are saved to your Rocky account using Amba. Do not include someone else’s private information or details you do not want processed by these services. AI can make mistakes. A reply is not professional advice or a promise of confidentiality.

You can decline and continue using the free exercises. To stop sharing new messages, stop using chat. You can also request deletion of your account and saved chat history.

OpenAI’s handling of API data is described in its API data documentation. Provider retention and legal obligations may differ from the data visible in your Rocky account.

Services used by Rocky

Version 1.1.0 disables PostHog and Sentry session recordings. Product analytics do not include the text of your chat messages or writing exercises. Some events describe sensitive activity, such as a mood check-in or opening support.

If you choose to report an AI reply, the selected reply and its technical identifier are sent to Sentry for the Rocky team to review. The report does not include your other messages. The app asks you to confirm before sending it.

These services may process information in countries other than yours. Information may also be disclosed when needed to comply with a legal obligation, protect rights, or address fraud or abuse.

Permissions and choices

Reminders are optional. You can change notification permission in your device settings. If you choose a feature that uses a photo, the app asks for the relevant camera or photo permission. Rocky does not need your precise location to show support resources; it uses the device’s region setting, and you can follow the helpline directory to choose another country.

Contacting a trusted person opens your device’s messaging app. You choose the recipient and send the message yourself. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Delete your Rocky account

In the app: open You → Account → Delete account and confirm. For a guest account, the account screen explains that signing out deletes the guest account because it cannot be recovered.

Account deletion requests removal of the account and its saved app data, including chat history, mood and contact records, onboarding answers, and wardrobe records. Exercise progress stored on the device is tied to that account and becomes unavailable when you leave it.

Without the app: email privacy@10xv.xyz with the subject “Delete my Rocky account.” Include the email address linked to your account. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. Do not send your password, payment card details, or private chat messages.

Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel separately in your Apple subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings.

Retention and privacy requests

Account information is kept while needed to provide the service, unless you request deletion. Some records may need to remain for security, accounting, legal obligations, or provider retention requirements. Deletion from active app storage does not mean every provider backup or transaction record is erased immediately.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict use of your information. You can contact us to exercise these rights or ask about information retained after an account deletion.

Young people

Rocky is designed for teens and adults, not children under 13. If you are below the age at which you can consent to data use where you live, a parent or guardian should help you understand this notice and the applicable requirements. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information.
